Houston African American Bloggers group was started in 2012 by a local blogger. It wasn’t until November 2014 when the founder was approached by two bloggers to really get the group formed. These three bloggers began to shape the group as well as add new members. Two of the three leaders stepped down. Jennifer Baker moved to the Dallas area and started the North Texas Black Bloggers one of our sister groups. The founder, Frederick Goodall, stepped down as his businesses required more attention.
By June 2015, Vernetta R. Freeney, became the sole Organizer for H.A.A.B. Then Sharlotte Jackson stepped up to be a part of the board.
Since then the group has set out to make itself known in the Houston community as well as provide learning opportunities and paid campaigns for the members. As Houston’s newest blog group, we set out to provide the Houston community with a diverse set of influencers who have engaging and informative audiences ready to interact with your brand.
January 2016 we became a dues membership association. You can learn more about joining by going to our Join Our Tribe page.
