On February 18, I had the privilege to sit in at the Texas Black Expo Lunch & Learn Presents Business Opportunities During Super Bowl LI. This event was moderated by Carlecia D. Wright, Director city of Houston Office of Business Opportunity along with special guest Hasting Stewart of the Super Bowl Committee and panelist April Day of WBEA, Angela Freemen with HMSDC, and Timothy Warren Division Manager of City of Houston Business Opportunity.
The City of Houston and Super Bowl Committee is making great strides for women, disabled-veterans, LGBTE, and minority business owners to capitalize on this mega event. There is a strong push among WBEA, HMSDC, and City of Houston for SBO to obtain their certifications. There will be a vast need of vendors from staffing, balloons, audio/visual, food, janitorial, and general contractors to name a few. Most business needs will take place at the George R. Brown Convention Center. For more information please visit http://houstonsuperbowl.com/business-connect.
In addition, there is a need for volunteers. To complete an application please visit http://housuperbowl.com/volunteer.
